FINET Classroom Training


The Division of Finance uses an internet-based software called iLinc to allow users to register for FINET training classroom sessions and to provide access to recorded materials. Recorded materials may include short training sessions (20-30 minutes) or finance meetings. Specific instructions forregistering for training and for accessing recorded materials are listed below. Please read instructions carefully before registering.

    Registration Instructions

    STEP 1 - Read the instructions all the way through before registering.

    After you have linked to the Classroom registration (iLinc) website (step 3) below:
    1. On the iLinc website, enter your User Name and Password. Your User Name is everything in your state email address before the @ symbol. If there is a period in your email address, do not include it as part of your User Name. The Password is "password".
      • If your email address is johndoe@utah.gov, your User Name is johndoe.
      • If your email address is jane.1.doe@state.ut.courts, your User Name is jane1doe.
    2. Click the Submit button in the lower right-hand side of your screen.
    3. Your Finance Training Home Page opens. Any course you have already registered to take (or any surveys/tests you have been asked to complete) will appear on your Home Page under the LearnLinc section.
    4. Select the Catalog link on the left menu bar to view and register for available courses.
    5. The Finance Training Catalog page opens. Open the folder for the Functional Area for which you need to take a classroom course by clicking on the + sign next to the Functional Area name.
    6. All available courses for the selected Functional Area appear. The physical location of the course is included in the course name as well as the description. To view the course description, click on the Description link to the right of the course name.
    7. The date and time of the course is listed beneath the course name. The number of seats available at that course location are also listed.
    8. If all seats at a location are full, this will be indicated underneath the course name, and there will not be a checkbox to the left of the course name.
    9. Select the checkbox next to the course for which you want to register.
    10. Scroll down, then select the Register link in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.
    11. A registration confirmation page opens. Select the OK link in the lower right-hand of this screen to return to the Catalog.
    12. Select the Log Out link from the left menu bar to exit the class registration software. Alternately, you can search for and/or register for another course.

    STEP 3 - Click here to go to iLinc and register.


    To Access Recorded Training/Meeting Materials:

    1. Link here to access the iLinc website to access recorded materials.
    2. Enter your User Name and Password. Your User Name is everything in your state email address before the @ symbol. If there is a period in your email address, do not include it as part of your User Name. Your password is "password".
      • Example 1: If your email address is johndoe@utah.gov, your User Name is johndoe.
      • Example 2: If your email address is john.l.doe@state.ut.courts, your User Name is johnldoe.
    3. Click the Submit button in the lower right-hand side of your screen.
    4. Your Home Page opens. Access Recorded Materials by clicking on the + sign next to the Recorded Materials Folder.
    5. Open additional category folders, if needed, to access the recorded materials you wish to view.
    6. Click the Launch link to the right of the recorded materails you wish to view.
    7. The iLinc player will load automatically, and the recorded materials will launch.
    8. Use the iLinc player to pause, play, rewind, or fast forward the recorded materials, as needed.
